Don't let anyone tell you that you must hold your fiddle bow a particular way. Or… maybe this is the "right" way.
Cathal Guinan is a fiddle player from a small village in Co. Offaly called Ballyboy. He comes from a musical family that is steeped in Irish traditional music.
Having developed a passion for the music at the young age of four on tin whistle, Cathal’s desire moved towards the fiddle and other genres including classical, bluegrass and Americana music.
In addition to playing the fiddle, Cathal has added the guitar, banjo, piano and bass to his repertoire.
Qualified in music production and sound engineering, he has won many accolades over the years including many All-Ireland titles at Fleadh Ceoil na hÉireann. Cathal has shared the stage and performed with artists such as Zoe Conway, Gaelic Storm, Socks in the Frying Pan Sharon Shannon, We Banjo 3, Goitse and many more.
