Archivally printed giclee prints on Canvas. All are 13.5 inches high and vary in length from 3 to 20 feet, including three diptychs and a triptych. Available mounted on board or as a canvas scroll.

ARTIST'S STATEMENT for Ice Gazing:

These photos were taken January 4 and 7, 2010, a few miles from Sisters. On those two particular days, the wet and just-freezing night weather was perfect for Old Man Winter to etch the ice in the ruts of a dirt road.

We don't get to see slow-formed ice crystals here in the high desert often. So, when I saw these on a morning walk, I ran back home to get my camera. Within minutes of taking these photographs, the sun's rays touched them and they were gone. I smile to think that we can't 'pocket' ice crystals. To attempt to possess them is to ruin them.

I can't help wondering if the formline art of the Northwest Coastal Indians — the carvings, paintings and totem poles of the Tlingit and other NW Coast tribes — is inspired by the patterns in ice like some of these puddles — where the water is shallow and has time to form more complex crystals structures.
